Vortex
Privacy
Last updated November 8, 2026. The short version: Vortex has no accounts and no analytics, and it keeps your browsing data on your computer.
What stays on your computer
Your bookmarks, history, settings and installed themes are saved in Vortex’s data folder on your PC. Vortex does not upload them anywhere. You can clear your history from the Library panel at any time.
What leaves your computer
- Websites you visit receive the requests any browser sends, and your searches go to the search engine you choose in Vortex.
- Site icons in the sidebar, start page and library are loaded from Google’s favicon service, which means that service sees the domain names of those sites.
- Ad blocker lists are downloaded from the ad blocker’s servers when Vortex starts.
What Vortex does not do
Vortex does not require an account, does not include analytics or tracking of its own, and does not sell data.
This website
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and the installer is downloaded from GitHub. Like any web host, they may log basic technical details about visits, such as IP addresses. This site does not use cookies or analytics of its own.
